The patient is a 37-year-old paralegal who complains of right sided “hip” pain of seven months duration. The pain is located just dis-
tal to the right posterior iliac crest, just to the right of the midline. He also has pain in the right proximal posterior thigh and right groin, although the buttock pain is the worst. Pain is increased by sitting more than 30 minutes and he has to sit leaning to the left. He can stand in place about 10 minutes but he can walk for almost an hour. He rates the pain on a scale of 0 to 10 as a six at rest, increasing to an eight or nine with activity. He misses work on a periodic basis and is concerned he will lose his job. [Read more…]
